Senior Test Pilot, Fixed Wing (F-5/T-38)

Holling Enterprises, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking an experienced Fixed Wing Test Pilot to join our team of professionals in supporting our Fighter Aircraft Maintenance & Operations programs.  

This position is located in Jacksonville, Florida.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

 

Duties include:

The pilot must be qualified in mission, type, design, and if appropriate, series of aircraft.

  • Perform as a F-5 Fighter Aircraft Functional Check Flight Pilot

  • Performs maintenance operational checks of aircraft on the ground through engine run-up, aircraft taxiing or use of auxiliary power or testing equipment, to assure that aircraft systems or components disturbed during an inspection or maintenance action have been repaired, reassembled or adjusted satisfactorily.

  • Performs general maintenance operational test flights to prove the airworthiness of the complete aircraft.

  • Completes test flight checklists IAW the applicable maintenance and pilot's operating manuals.

  • Completes aircraft functional check and acceptance activities IAW company DCMA 8210.1C Ground & Flight Operations Manuals

  • Performs limited test flights when it is necessary to prove proper functioning of specific items/components.

  • After each test flight, performs a thorough visual inspection to the extent necessary to ensure that deficiencies developed as a result of the test flight are detected and corrected before the aircraft is released for further flight and completes maintenance forms and aircraft logbooks.



Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to comprehend documents such as repair station operating procedures, safety rules, aircraft operations checklists, aircraft maintenance instructions and other technical manuals.

Mission essential functions and other duties may be assigned as required.



In order to perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The candidate will be frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft. The candidate will be occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance. The candidate must frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the essential functions of this job, the candidate will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks. The candidate will be regularly exposed to vibration. The candidate will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The candidate must be able to properly use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials, and toxic or caustic chemicals per Government regulations and company procedures. The candidate will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and with occasional risk of electrical shock. The candidate is required to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.

 

Per Holling Enterprises' FAA Repair Station Certificate, each individual that applies to perform a safety-sensitive function, will be required to undergo pre-employment drug testing/screening.

The successful candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Candidate must have 1000 flight hours in USN/USAF fighter aircraft 

  • FAA Commercial Certificate with Instrument Rating

  • FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate

  • Must be a US Citizen. 

The successful candidate possesses the following preferred qualifications:

  • Graduate of USNTPS, USAF TPS, or equivalent Test Pilot School

  • Qualified (or previously qualified) NATOPS F-5 Aircraft Check Pilot

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes

  • Experience working at a Fleet Readiness Center (Ground Check, Flight Test/Acceptance, Depot Repair)
